I've had the chance of watching Rome the series from Season 1 to 2 (DVD marathon na naman over the weekend). I've been looking for it since last year but then no one seems to know about it. Mas sikat pa rin ang CSI, Heroes at Supernatural dito sa 'Pinas kesa sa period series na ito. Given my passion for epic novels, no wonder I was attracted to this EPIC series. Superb casts, excellent acting and great costumes made this a memorable series. My recent acquisition is The Tudors Season I, capturing the life of King Henry VIII although I haven't started it yet. It was produced by the same production outfit who gave us The L Word which means there will be lots of, uhm, sexy scenes in it (hindi ko alam kasi hindi ko pa naumpisahan).

Back to Work
New team...new team mates...another beginning...another headache!
I'm still waiting so I could use Sharon's line "I care about my job, sir. I care about you." Hehe! Classic! Hindi pahuhuli sa line nya na "I was never your partner, I'm just your wife kaya hindi mo ako nirerespeto" sa Madrasta.
Speaking of movies, nag-movie hopping ako after my shift last Saturday. I cried with "Caregiver" first. Then, i went to watch "The Incredible Hulk". I love Edward Norton eversince I saw him in American History X but the role of the Hulk is not for him. Eric Bana carried it well kahit hindi sya masyado magaling umarte on the first installment. Or perhaps nasanay lang ako that Edward Norton always gets off-beat roles...A good movie though (but not great). It gives us something to look forward to, specially when Robert Downey Jr (aka Tony Stark - Ironman) appeared towards the end of the movie and said "we're creating a team"...which means that he and Norton (perhaps) will be together in a future movie...

Death Note
Very dark and gothic but very interesting anime, nonetheless. The plot is surprising and full of twist especially Season 1. The mind battle between the protagonist/antagonist, Light (a.k.a. Kira) and Ryuzaki (the so-called number 1 detective in the world) is quite fascinating.
In the end of Season 1, Light outwitted by carefully planning his moves. However, he was eventually discovered in Season 2 by L's successor, no less.
What's interesting in this anime is Light, the son pf a police officer, believes that peace could be achieved by judging and killing criminals. I guess, the saying "innocent until proven guilty" does not work for him. Being fortunate enough (?) to get hold of the powerful Death Note, he saw himself as the God of the New World because he could kill people merely by writing their names on the Death Note. Ryuzaki is the guy whose out to get him though...
I won't bother with the gory details, lest i would take away excitement of some who hasn't seen the ending *wink*. One thing is certain, this anime is so entertaining but don't watch at night...you might see a shinigami watching it along with you...hehe...
